Abstract

Latar Belakang: Seseorang yang menggunakan komputer selama dua jam atau lebih dapat menimbulkan gejala computer vision syndrome dan penurunan tingkat konsentrasi. Dengan melakukan terapi senam mata dapat mencegah terjadinya gejala computer vision syndrome dan penurunan tingkat konsentrasi. Senam mata merupakan salah satu jenis perawatan yang membantu mata terbiasa bergerak secara elastis, yaitu tanpa otot yang tegang sehingga mata dapat bergerak dalam rentang alaminya. Tujuan: Menjelaskan pengaruh senam mata terhadap penurunan gejala Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) dan tingkat konsentrasi pada siswa kelas X RPL SMK Negeri di Probolinggo. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment dengan pendekatan non-equivalent control group design. Jumlah responden sebanyak 66 siswa kelas X RPL SMK Negeri di Probolinggo yang dibagi menjadi kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik non-equivalent control design, di mana kedua kelompok tidak dipilih secara acak namun tetap dibandingkan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Analisis data pada hasil pretest dan posttest menggunakan uji Wilcoxon untuk melihat perbedaan skor sebelum dan sesudah pemberian senam mata. Hasil: Temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan hasil pretest dan posttest pada siswa SMK Negeri di Probolinggo, Hasil pretest 23 siswa mengalami gejala CVS, dengan 14 siswa tingkat konsentrasi rendah dan 19 siswa tingkat konsentrasi tinggi. Hasil Posttest sebanyak 15 siswa mengalami gejala CVS, tingkat konsentrasi siswa juga mengalami peningkatan, didapatkan nilai p < 0,001. Kesimpulan: Terdapat Pengaruh Senam Mata terhadap penurunan Gejala CVS (Computer Vision Syndrome) dan Tingkat Konsentrasi pada responden.

Abstract  

Background: A person who uses computer during two hours or more can cause symptom computer vision syndrome and decline level concentration. With do therapy exercise eye can prevent the occurrence symptom computer vision syndrome and decline level concentration. Gymnastics eye is one type of treatment that helps the eyes get used to moving elastically, that is, without tense muscles so that the eyes can move within their natural range. Objective: Explaining the effect of eye exercises on reducing symptoms of Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) and concentration levels in class X RPL students at State Vocational Schools in Probolinggo. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design approach. The number of respondents was 66 grade X RPL students of SMK Negeri in Probolinggo who were divided into treatment and control groups. Sampling was conducted using a non-equivalent control design technique, where the two groups were not selected randomly but were still compared before and after the intervention. Data analysis of the pretest and posttest results used the Wilcoxon test to see the difference in scores before and after the administration of eye exercises. Results: The research findings showed differences in pretest and posttest results in State Vocational High School students in Probolinggo. The pretest results showed that 23 students experienced CVS symptoms, with 14 students having low concentration levels and 19 students having high concentration levels. The posttest results showed that 15 students experienced CVS symptoms, and their concentration levels also increased, with a p value of <0.001. Conclusion: Eye exercises have an effect on reducing CVS (Computer Vision Syndrome) symptoms and concentration levels in respondents.
