Abstract

Abstrak  

Kompetensi klinis merupakan aspek penting dalam pendidikan keperawatan, khususnya pada prosedur invasif seperti pemasangan kateter urine. Ketidakmampuan dalam menguasai keterampilan ini dapat berdampak pada rendahnya efikasi diri mahasiswa, sehingga mempengaruhi kepercayaan diri dalam praktik klinis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kompetensi pemasangan kateter urine dengan efikasi diri pada mahasiswa keperawatan semester V dan VII di Universitas Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 140 responden yang diambil menggunakan teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner kompetensi pemasangan kateter urine dan General Self-Efficacy (GSE). Analisis data menggunakan uji Spearman Rank. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara kompetensi pemasangan kateter urine dengan efikasi diri (p = 0,000; r = 0,335), yang berarti terdapat hubungan positif dengan kekuatan sedang. Sebagian responden berada pada kategori kompeten dan memiliki efikasi diri yang tinggi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kompetensi mahasiswa, maka semakin tinggi pula efikasi diri yang dimiliki dalam melakukan tindakan klinis. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kompetensi pemasangan kateter urine dengan efikasi diri mahasiswa keperawatan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya peningkatan keterampilan klinis melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan guna meningkatkan kompetensi dan efikasi diri secara optimal.

Abstract  

Clinical competence is an important aspect in nursing education, especially in invasive procedures such as urinary catheter insertion. Inability to master this skill can impact students' low self-efficacy, thus affecting their confidence in clinical practice. This study aims to analyze the relationship between urinary catheter insertion competence and self-efficacy in fifth and seventh semester nursing students at Nurul Jadid University, Paiton, Probolinggo. This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 140 respondents selected using a total sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a urinary catheter insertion competence questionnaire and General Self-Efficacy (GSE). Data analysis used the Spearman Rank test. The results showed a significant relationship between urinary catheter insertion competence and self-efficacy (p = 0.000; r = 0.335), which means there is a positive relationship with moderate strength. Some respondents were in the competent category and had high self-efficacy. This finding indicates that the higher the student's competence, the higher their self-efficacy in performing clinical procedures. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between urinary catheter insertion competence and nursing students' self-efficacy. Therefore, efforts to improve clinical skills through ongoing training are needed to optimally enhance competence and self-efficacy.
