Abstract
Individual readiness for marriage is a relevant topic in society because readiness is an important determinant of family life. This readiness encompasses various dimensions, including emotional, psychological, social, spiritual, and financial aspects. Research on the factors influencing premarital readiness is important to understand how individuals can adapt and develop optimally in married life. This study employed an observational analytic design involving prospective brides and grooms in the working area of the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) of Pare District. The population consisted of prospective brides and grooms (male and female) in the KUA Pare working area, and the sample was selected using an accidental sampling technique. The study was conducted in June 2025. The dependent variables were the emotional, psychological, social, spiritual, and financial readiness of prospective brides and grooms, while the independent variables included age, gender, and type of occupation. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire in which respondents selected the answers that best matched their conditions from the options provided. Prior to data collection, the instrument was pilot-tested to assess sentence clarity and ease of understanding among respondents from the general public. The collected data were processed through tabulation and analyzed statistically using the Spearman Rank correlation test with SPSS version 16 software. The results of the correlation analysis showed that only the relationship between gender and emotional readiness, as well as the relationship between type of occupation and financial readiness, were statistically significant. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that gender is significantly associated with the emotional readiness of prospective brides and grooms, while type of occupation is significantly associated with financial readiness
