Abstract

ABSTRAK : Lima tahun pertama dari kehidupan seorang manusia merupakan fondasi bagi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan selanjutnya. Sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas baik fisik, psikis, maupun intelegensianya berawal dari balita yang sehat. Masalah gizi yang merupakan masalah kesehatan masyarakat, dipengaruhi banyak faktor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa efektifitas metode mnemonic (chunking) terhadap pengetahuan orang tua  tentang indikator status gizi balita di Posyandu Desa Gayaman Kecamatan Mojoanyar Kabupaten Mojokerto. Desain penelitian ini adalah Quasy Experimen dengan pendekatan pre – post Control Group Design. Teknik pengambilan  sampling dengan teknik purpose sampling yang terdiri dari 49 responden. Variabel Independen adalah metode Mnemonic (Chuking) Variabel Dependen pengetahuan orang tua tentang indikator gizi. Data yang terkumpul di analisis dengan uji statistik Uji Wilcoxon dengan tingkat kemaknaan α ≤ 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengetahuan orang tua tentang indikator gizi sebelum diberikan pendidikan kesehatan sebanyak 33 responden (67,3%) dikategorikan kurang, sedangkan setelah diberikan pendidikan kesehatan  didapatkan hasil sebanyak 27 responden (55,1%) dikategorikan baik. Metode mnemonic (chunking) efektif untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan orang tua  tentang indikator gizi balita di Posyandu Desa Gayaman  Kecamatan Mojoanyar Kabupaten Mojokerto ( p value = 0,00<0,05). Upaya untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan orang tua dapat dilakukan dengan cara menambah wawasan informasi dan penyuluhan kesehatan, mendorong untuk berinisiatif meningkatkan pengetahuannya.

 

Abstract : The first five years of a human's life are the foundation for further growth and development. Quality human resources both physically, psychologically, and intelligence begins with a healthy toddler. Nutrition problem which is a public health problem, is influenced by many factors. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the mnemonic (chunking) method of parental knowledge about indicators of nutritional status of children under five in Posyandu, Gayaman Village, Mojoanyar District, Mojokerto Regency. The design of this study was the Quasy Experiment with a pre-post Control Group Design approach. Sampling technique with purpose sampling technique consisting of 49 respondents. The Independent Variable is the Mnemonic Method (Chuking) Dependent Variable of parents' knowledge about nutrition indicators. Data collected were analyzed by Wilcoxon Test statistical test with significance level α ≤ 0.05. The results showed that parental knowledge about nutrition indicators before being given health education as many as 33 respondents (67.3%) were categorized as lacking, whereas after being given health education results were obtained as many as 27 respondents (55.1%) categorized as good. The mnemonic (chunking) method is effective for increasing parental knowledge about under five nutrition indicators in Posyandu, Gayaman Village, Mojoanyar District, Mojokerto Regency (p value = 0.00 <0.05). Efforts to increase parental knowledge can be done by increasing insight into information and health education, encouraging initiatives to improve their knowledge.
