Abstract
Hyperbilirubinemia is a common complication in newborn babies. Phototherapy as a treatment for hyperbilirubinemia can cause side effects so complementary therapy is needed. Baby field massage as a complementary therapy is thought to increase bilirubin excretion while the baby is undergoing phototherapy. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of providing infant field massage therapy on serum bilirubin levels in infants with hyperbilirubinemia. This research methodology uses a systematic review which consists of 5 phases, namely problem identification using the PICO framework; search for literature through relevant databases, namely PubMed, Science Direct and Wiley with an article search time of 1 month to make it easier to search for articles. The researchers set inclusion criteria, namely articles published in 2013-2024, articles in Indonesian and English, full text observations , qualitative or quantitative articles that discuss baby fields and articles that discuss baby field massage. Meanwhile, the exclusion criteria are opinion articles or comments, letters and book reviews and irrelevant articles or subjects. The next step is to create a Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) flow diagram to illustrate the article search flow; carry out data evaluation; analyze data and present the data obtained. The results of a review of 8 articles obtained 5 articles which showed that baby field massage can be used as an effective complementary therapy to reduce serum bilirubinemia levels in babies with hyperbilirubinemia. Because baby field massage because massage using the field method can reduce excess bilirubin levels in neonates. This is because this stimulation can stimulate metabolism so that toxins in the body can be easily broken down and excreted through feces and urine.
